I caught a glimpse of this one a couple of years ago, it's the one where they use soil to soak up the slugs slime isn't it ? I've always wanted to see it fully.

If I remember there are a few ant documentaries on this weekend on that channel. Repeated over the next few days.

I am actually watching the Killer Ants programme as I type this Both documentaries are being repeatedly shown at 2 hourly intervals, and if you've never seen these about such ants as African Driver Ants (Dorylus species), South American Army Ants (Eciton species); and Tasmanian Jack Jumpers which are reputedly the most deadly ants for the venom in their stings, then you are really in for a Myrmecological treat I would highly recommend anyone who can get to view these ant programmes does so, as they are well worth watching for the great close up camera shots inside the nests showing such vast colonies of 1 million ants, up to the 20 million of African Driver Ants

20million LOL. I can't even get my carpenter ant queen to produce anything. My antworks killed my other carpenter Queen, go figure.

You wouldn't be able to keep the army ants, they move from place to place. I wouldn't keep them unless you have a million basins connected ;D ;D

A massive laboratory designed to keep a colony of armyants was built, and it wasn't big enough. The closest anyone can get to armyants in captivity are Pheidologeton sp.
