Wood is treating me to a new Camcorder being delivered tomorrow My original still works but it is about 10yrs old now and I have nearly worn it out, it also uses tape and is unable to link up to a computer. My new one will record straight onto the hard drive see below... www.jvc.co.uk/product.php?id=GZ-MG330REK&catid=100094This one has stronger magnification for ants, and a load of new features than my old one does, comes in 3 colours, silver blue and red. Just thought I fancied a change from the old silver, and so chosen red I will be like a child with a new toy tomorrow ;D

Well, this camcorder is amazing in the quality of its playback, and it fits in my palm, I cannot believe it! It is all touch sensitive, with blue flashing scroll bar on the monitor, and no viewfinder, it can easily fit in a pocket. Ants are a lot bigger with its macro facility. I have been out in the garden today filming bees and flowers, I have also filmed nigers milking the aphids on my Mock Orange tree I have not got the heart to spray the aphids, as it might harm the ants. So I will leave well alone; us gardeners do have some issues to cross when it comes to wildlife, and respect of life. I am finding new things with this camcorder as it films straight onto its hardrive, building files as it goes. This method I have not been used to, with always using tape in years gone by. My next step is mastering downloading its info onto the computer, already having the video software on there. I cannot wait now for the ants mating flights, as we have nigers and flavus in abundance here. I think they will make good filming, it is just a shame that YouTube do not download easier, quicker, and retain the same quality as you see it on DVD
