I have around £350 to spend and would like someone to recommend a Camera which would allow me to take close up pictures of my Ant Farms.
If you would be as specific as possible I would be extremely grateful. I have some great pictures to take but my present camera is not good enough. One amazing pic would be the fact a brood chamber on my Niger colony is situated under the internal glass shelf of my Fish Tank and there are hundreds of Eggs, Larvae and Pupae visible...

Always make sure if it is an automatic it has macro or super macro which is even better, on it. Also a camera shake reduction function, because the closer you get the more shake is involved. I bought an SLR hybrid only to find later it did not have a macro function but came with 2 lenses, but I would have to spend the same again for a macro lense to take really large close ups of ants. I also have the Samsung Pro 815, which is brilliant and comes with the varying macro facilities and an anti shake button. All these macro lenses take good photos and with about a x2 magnification, but to get ants really big, then you are looking at reversing a binocular lense like Tom did, or buy a high macro lense which may cost the price of a camera again Just a few ideas to throw your way
