I have tried to catch a newly eclosed (emerged) callow ant just seconds after her mum and sisters rip open the end of her cocoon. Apologies for the bit that goes off focus, but I hope you enjoy it all the same Older workers actually moved the new callow away and the empty cocoon case just 27 seconds after I started filming, so you don't get to see much of her; but she is in the corner by the other cocoons.

nice vid woodant how old is this colony?. you say boosted how have you more that 1 queen? Boosted means he gave the newly mated queen some cocooned pupae from a wild nest, so all of her workers are not related to the queen, but they take on her colony scent and will still treat her as their mother. They will raise her own eggs and larvae as they are all family now

Yes, a boosted colony like this means exactly that. It started with a newly mated queen from this years July mating flights. She has laid eggs and has a few larvae, but Jen collected about 30 cocooned pupae which we introduced into this new queens possession and since workers from these started to emerge, she now has a ready made colony with larger worker daughters than she could've raised herself
