I was thinking about that, but the only problem is, I cannot find anything of what your talking about. I'm looking at the Antstore website, and it doesnt seem to have anything to do with what you are talking about. Can you tell me where I can buy them from?
Thank you.

antstore does have plaster nests but it would be cheaper and better if you build your own. Areated concrete can be purchased in blocks at wicks.

I do not like the thought of having to do it myself, because I always manage to do something wrong. I have been looking on the forums, and been going to sites that people have recommended. There is one site, which I do plan to now buy the Ant Habitat from and the actual queen L.niger. Here is a link to the site and the Habitat that I plan to use for the L.niger queen. edu-sci.com/antquarium-ant-kit-p-142.html This habitat was recommended. What are your comments, should I buy the Habitat and the L.niger queen from here? Thank you.

That ant farm is bad for ants. I will never use it and if you look around on here at ant works you'll see why. As for the L.niger colony I would get with this ant farm edu-sci.com/ant-world-p-254.html (antworld). Some other member can tell you about how good they are at sending stuff (I haven't used them yet!).

Ok thank you both, it seems I will not be buying the gel habitats. I guess I will just get a simple one.

Oh I forgot to ask, if I was to get this gel habitat, and get rid of the gel from it, and simply place sand instead, would that be ok?

that would be fine as they would be a lot happier. I'm not sure about the gel farm's but I don't think that you can have a foraging area on it. You could buy an ant farm from Argos. I like the new one they have called antlantis (£11.99 I think) Which had the ant world and a foraging area with you use water with. You get Triop (sorry if not spelt wright) as well which live in the water and you get seed with soil. When it is all up and going it look really good. Hope this help you and good look with the new colony you get
