Wow! Look at that batch of eggs and larvae! This colony is in full swing as the queen continues to lay eggs and more workers begin to eclose. They will easily take in two or three adult meal worms within a day. Also they have quite a few soldiers now to my delight I am very impressed at the growth rate of this colony as numbers range 100+ ! Thanks for reading, Blem12.

Hello, Wow! I had not noticed that I had not updated this journal for such a long time. I am sorry about that Well, since my last update this colony has had its fair troubles but still remains with us. A few months ago, I placed the test tube on a thermostat controlled heat mat but to my shock, I discovered that the thermostat was faulty as the temperature had risen by 10C which unfortunately killed off a fair amount workers This left them with one queen, 20 workers and no brood. I decided to change place their test tube in a plastic tank in which they could forage. Slowly but surely, the queen began to lay new eggs and the colony grew. Currently, this colony has 50+ workers with quite a few eggs and larvae. They are now in hibernation mode as most activity has ceased, except the rare occasion of a lone worker drinking or walking around the foraging area. Thanks for reading, Blem12.
