Find BBC ant videos absolutely fascinating, how do get this footage? how do they get a camera downthere, with the light and without disrupting such fascinating activity? Apologies if this has been posted before

Hehe, I wouldn't mind one of those too. It would be nice to watch my Pheidole pallidula's underground activities and see how they're getting on in their new home.

It is done the same way surgeons look inside the body before they operate, as micro cams using fibre optics can be as slim as a pencil or as fine as a piece of wire, and bend to get into those awkward places; like putting an catheter inside the urethra to see inside the bladder, only in this case down small ant tunnels
