Thats how I start small colonies,but as they get too big I make them a set up.

Akaant, great photos, I have opened them up as an image for you. They are a small size so shouldn't take to much time to load for dial up users. They are worth the wait, and I nearly missed seeing them all together with being busy in other areas

I'm in trouble now!!! I also recently picked up 2 Camponotus queens of some sort Really really liking those crematogaster! You raise them from a queen or catch colony? My queen never laid eggs. ;*/

Just wait til I go on my vacation I'm going to out do you one way or another! by the way, I read you have a ponera sp. How'd you manage to find such a rare ant? I've always wanted some, pics?! I love that! brilliant ant species right there! Are there black species out east? I think I might have one being founded in my yard. Maybe 1 or 2. (the Ponera sp's) I'm still curious about the test tubes, how do you feed them? Maybe take a whole picture of the test tube So I might be able to understand? And where do you get your's! Cheers!

I am also interested about the test tube method. At the moment I'm using tightly packed toilet paper soaked in honey water. I have to replace it every second day though. Plus she is part of the Camponotus species and she chews right through it .
