Hibernation. I was wondering where is the best place to hibernate my ants as this is the 1st year of keeping them the ants are Niger. Flavus. Rubra ants. I was thinking of keeping them in the attic where they would not be disturb because if I put them in my shed I would be going in & out all the time but in the attic they would not be disturbed as much or at at all plus it would stay a constant temperature. Thanks for any help

As long as your attic stays above freezing point, but does not get higher than about 7 degrees Celcius during winter, then the ant species you are keeping will hibernate safely until it starts to warm up again in Spring next year. I wouldn't worry about putting them up there just yet, as early November is plenty soon enough to place them into hibernation
