Great photo of them, as she is one of the 7 sisters which came from Spain last October. Could you make any future photos just a bit smaller please Abz, as big ones take longer to load and can push out the forum post box

DAY 3: Well today I moved this great colony to a area were they live happily uptil they grow bigger. Where they will move then move into a abzantz nest. I can honestly say this is a great colony, as soon as I moved them into this hard based area they have been taking food and seeds, but only the small ones. The queen has also laid a new batch of eggs. Here are some pics Look at all those seeds. A bit of a close up. I am sorry about the size of the photos.

The set up is too dry, they really do better in soil.

The workers are killing there queen . I think she is already dead. I am not good at keeping ants. I am thinking of stop keeping ants now.

Why would the workers kill their mother, as she has the same smell and has been with them since they were born?

Are you sure that the workers are not actually dragging her somewhere or similar? As many of us ant keepers think that the own workers of the queen seem to be killing when they are actually trying to help her in some way.
Also, as Jen suggested I think you would be better of placing the test tube in a soil set up in a dark and warm place.

She is on her back kicking her legs a little what do I do? I would suggest you let nature take its course, as if there was something in the set up that caused this condition she may well recover. Hope she makes it as she was a healthy queen when she lived in our airing cupboard in a soil set up.
