Hi for a few weeks I had been seeing a few bumble bee workers flying into a clump of grass. I have identified the bee's as The Common Carder Bee well today I decided to investigate I pulled away the grass gently and found a small rectangle of grass. I opened up the grass to find a small wax ball which obviously was the nest but I put it back in as I didnt want to harm the colony luckly there was no bee's in the nest at the time. So I am guessing that the queen has just got her first generation of workers. I will keep you updated on any new news on this colony

Sounds cool Marshall, I had one in my garden a few years back, but the colonies only lived for a year. Then the queen flew off in spring. I found a new colony the following year, but if yours turns out like the one in my garden, it then got quite large in numbers Sithmaster676

Yes hopefully they will grow well and produce queens, as most species of Bumble Bee are in decline, which is very sad as they are a lovely insect.
