Great stuff Tom, amazing detail and clarity on the head close up. I simply have to agree with Jen and Myrm, you really must keep up such good photography work my young friend, as you may have found your calling in life career wise with such wonderful photos Keep her warmer than most ant species, as she is from the hot deserts of Arizona; but even there the temperatures fluctuate, so it can be cold at night. I would suggest a minimum temp at night of about 15C (approx. 60F.) going up to around 30 Celcius (approx. 87F.) in the day. During the winter months I plan keeping my own queen/colony in my airing cupboard, which maintains a temp of 72-77F all the time

I think some Harvester ant species forage and need to eat right even before workers hatch. I am not sure if it is true for your species.

Speaking for my own queen, she is doing well with her brood and hasn't foraged on the surface for food. I have placed a small plastic bottle cap with a few seeds, but she is sticking closely to her pupae, larvae and eggs so far. I'm glad to hear your Pogo lady has laid eggs too Tom, and it is good to hear she's eaten a seed

I've just noticed she has 2 or 3 larvae aswell, what do you think would happen if I put a M.barbarus pupa in there for they are both harvester ants?
