If I were to place food in the tank would my queen eat it? You could try her with a few small seeds, but I would only offer dead insects if they are really small, as she won't need a lot of food just yet until there are a lot of hungry larvae to feed. My own queen has a small clutch of brood, but has shown no interest whatsoever in eating

On the subect of food, I was wondering how you provided the seeds. I know that you use tanks for your Messors Wood, but how do you keep the seeds dry? Thanks for all your help.

Easy really, just place a small number of seeds into a plastic bottle cap. Caps off plastic milk cartons are good if washed first and then dried, or the end top off sweets containers like Smarties. Anything that keeps the seeds from coming into contact with moisture and getting damp, and therefore prevents them from germinating
