Its best not to feed this species live food. Only insects that have been put in boiling water and frozen to kill any mites that might be on the food.

I disagree. I've noticed if the food isn't moving they sometimes don't even notice it. which is a complete waste.

The colony has outgrown the tank I built so today I'm purchasing a new one.. not sure exactly how I'm going to go about moving them though. Sadly it has to be done. along with them outgrowing the tank it became damaged over the last week. This is going to be very very fun!(SARCASM)

I disagree. I've noticed if the food isn't moving they sometimes don't even notice it. which is a complete waste. I noticed the same with mine. About the food I never use frozen food (to feed any of my colonies) because usually lasts less than fresh food.. so that it's more dangerous because it allows bacteria, mites and so on to grow faster.

Things are going well. I got a large portion of the work force most of the majors most of the eggs and all the queens into the new tank. Now I am waiting for the remaining workers in the old nest to reform somewhere with all the loose eggs and I'll get the rest in one last go (hopefully) only been bit a few thousand times. lol I have noticed though that surgical gloves does seem to help, they can't cling to them as well as skin and are easy to shake off.
