I bumped into that site the other week. Been looking to get the "Lasiodora Parahybana" One of the biggest Tarantulas you can get.
I'm surprised how cheap they are.

We have just returned from buying a few things for Pepper, which is the name Jen has decided to call her spider. Got this email this morning from them.
Hello, Your order has been sent today through next-day courier. (Usually they deliver packages before 1 PM, but sometimes the courier can be a few hours late, so don’t worry if there’s a delay.) The order has been professionally packed however a heatpack has not been added as the weather outside is warm enough. Please contact us as soon as you have received your package so that we know that everything is alright. I hope you will be very satisfied.
It is getting more like a zoo each day in our home, but an exciting time too.

Lasiodora parahybana are cheap because they are very easy to rear (compared for example to the other giant, Theraphosa blondi) easy to reproduce, at 3-4 years old I think, and each eggsac can contain up to 2000 eggs . I have a couple of small specimens and they make very good pets, always active and hungry. Here's one my my Lasiodora slings molting:

Their emails seem friendly enough, I definitely look forward to ordering from them now I'm looking to keep mine in one of those flat storage containers that you can get from B&Q, their cheap enough. It's plastic though with a clip on lid. So I'll just have to drill a few holes on top. I probably won't breed mine. But I'll keep that option open though. Don't think I could cope with the stress in bringing up little Lasiodora's. I've just about managed to convince my partner in letting me getting one, It was worst when I told her that it's like the 3rd largest tarantula in the world. Still doing a lot of research first though. Looking forward in seeing some pics of Pepper

As we don't know what gender the spider is, we thought that a name that suits both male and female would be best. You can be sure Jen will takes some photos, and I will do a video from time to time.

Here's one my my Lasiodora slings molting: I read on a site, they flip themselves upside down. I can see in that video yours has, it looks like it slipping out of a jacket. Asiletto, is that time lapse video?

I have just looked up what you want Atomfix, I couldn't cope with that. They are so fast, have you seen them on ytube? Here is a link, I had a shock to see it vanish like it did Spider Link I'd keep it quiet to your partner how big they can get, or you will be living in the shed for a week

I find the ones when it eats Mice interesting. I've just ordered the tarantula, with a set of tweezers, the coconut fibre thing and some cockroach's to get it started. I'm going to B&Q soon to pick up a suitable clear storage box, and from peat free compost. You should make a Tarantula forum next Jenant! I have a feeling this is going to get popular.

Depends on their price, when you ordered. Mine will be a second instar spiderling for £7approx. Have you gone for the Bristol company?

The one I bought was £19.99 it doesn't bother me if it was one of the baby ones or a mature. Would of been good if it was on its site. Hopefully I might get that dispatched email sometime tomorrow. Still looking forward in seeing some pictures of Pepper. You should make a sub-forum for spiders on here so we can start some journals.

They do say on their site that livestock is dispatched Monday to Thursday, so orders placed today should be sent out tomorrow. They are good at sending emails to advise you on orders. Once Jen gets her spider perhaps a sub-board may be made if enough members want it, but perhaps not until it is needed as this is still an Ant Forum, and for now you can still use this board for pets of any kind.

I have had a look at the page you ordered from, the fact that they have sexed it, indicates it will be an older spider than mine is. I'm expecting mine might be about an inch in length judging the age, but I won't know the sex of it until it molts a few times. I can't wait for the postman now, but they never come before 1pm which just happens to be the next day deadline for spiders. I will have a think about a spider board, okay if enough members keep spiders on here.
