Once again, this colony is doing well. I'll get a proper post up soon - I promise! Just have had very little free time recently.

The Myrmecocystus mexicanus colony is still doing well. All of the brood I mentioned in my first post has eclosed and been replaced by a handful of new larvae and eggs. There are about half a dozen large repletes in the colony. One things that I have noticed with these ants is that they will waste absolutely no food. They will feed from whatever liquid food I give them until they have drank it all. A major concern of mine is that they will form too many repletes and will refuse to move into the new formicarium because of it. I've been feeding them conservatively in order to avoid replete development. I will be introducing this colony to a new nest within this month, as soon as I have a formicarium ready for them. More pictures to come soon.
The two other Myrmecocystus queens aren't doing quite as well as I would like. Their brood has shrunk and its developing very slowly. I'll be introducing them into a new founding set up that I am developing. More to come on that soon, too.
