The Queen instantly began feeding on a fresh dish of sugar water last night. She carried the water within her mandibles to feed in the safety of her nest.

This lady has decided it best to kill her largest larvae. It was in the middle of creating it's cocoon which makes it especially tragic. Fingers crossed that she can try again and succeed.

Should receive mine tomorrow, I've done some research but will no doubt be asking for your advice! X That's brilliant, she'll do fine with you mate. I'd be happy to offer help; two heads are better than one. For the record, I think this species does a little better at around 28 Celsius. My Queen is only kept at 24 Celsius, which could explain the very slow development time and possibly why she killed her larvae.

That is truly sad news I know, it was like losing 6 months of development in an instance. She has a few small larvae left but they are a fraction of the size

Hi all, sorry I've not been on for awhile, it's been crazy busy with college lately. I'm very sad to say, Queen Pandora has died. I tried my best to help her raise a colony but it was never to be. I hoped to even brood boost her one day to give her a helping hand. The closest she got to raising a colony was around Christmas time when she had large piles of brood and semi cocooned worker. She was with me for 1 year and 25 days.
