Settling in very well however seemed to have made there home in the tube in the foraging tank and not made any effort to venture to the ant world yet. Should I intervene or just leave them be for now? In the living room so not cold just didn't want them getting to cold? Any advice appreciate on the next step.
Cheers

Colony is very active tonight all very much foraging, gathering and collecting what they can. Still lots of eggs in the nest so guessing food demand is high at the moment! Every time I lift the box covering the ant world they all go bananas and all start moving eggs around prob to get them out of the light I'm guessing!

Been at least a couple of weeks since my last post. Ants are doing great lots goin on with the hatching of the new brood and start of the newly laid brood developing so going into the cooler months a nice size to ensure safety, security and success if that means anything. Ie more ants on hand during the colder months unless it doesn't work like that.
Really interesting watching the new callow ants try and explore and a bigger work picking them up and dragging them back :-)

Yeah I may try and make one how do you cut the block then? Yeah all the ones I've seen do not have foraging tanks which I would quite like to use for the ants to explore

Yeah thanks for that I just fancied trying different tanks but I'm not very artistic which is why I thought I would have a look. Cheers I'll check them out.

Just a question really can they be bought already made or do they have to be made by the person?

Sorry for few days out been hard at work. Treated my ants to some crickets last 2 days they have consumed the entire tub I bought :-) as well as flies on top they really are greedy ha ha.
The eggs have got big and more and more ants have been foraging, ants in the foraging area all appear to be carrying what looks like egg shells so guessing from the hatched ants. The colony is thriving day by day and busy keeping themselves entertained as they carry out there daily business :-)
