Hi all have an acrylic nest from anthouse I have a small pheidole colony and they are messy they won't remove the small meal worm that has gone black and needs to be removed. but can't get anything to bend through the hole into the nest it's got the built in foraging arena I know this doesn't make much sense but any help what I could use to remove it would be a great help.

You can't remove it, it's up to them to bring stuff out. Our Pheds all have messy nests and never clean them out. This is one problem with acrylic and ytong you can't clean them, and to sweep out flies you risk the whole nest of ants on the run if you undo it.

I have the same problem if the ants don't bring out dead flies. If it is close to the entrance hole a wet cotton bud will sometimes bring dried up insects out, but if this fails then you just have to hope the ants will remove it, as using a vacuum cleaner nozzle would suck out live ants so this isn't really an option.
