Hello all, I'm not sure if I should have asked this here, but I couldn't really see anywhere else.. I had one ant queen at the moment, it is a Formica Fusca, so I have been told by a very clever person that knows a lot about ants ( Theantkeeper). Sadly, she hasn't been laying any eggs or even digging for that matter.... But that's not why I am here asking a question. I was coming back into the house when I suddenly stopped and noticed a wingless queen on the path beside me , I quickly placed her in a test tube. She seems to be almost identical to the current Queen I have ( Formica Fusca ) This could be possible couldn't it... Unfortunately, I cannot provide images, as my camera has broke, and my other one gets all blurry when I get close up... If TheantKeeper reads this, help me out ;D Or anyone else for that matter. I am almost completely sure that they are the same and if I'm correct, I can place two Formica Fusca queens together cannot I? Thanks

Don't place the queens together. Unless they are from the same nest they will likely fight (I'm sure a more knowledgeable member can clarify this). Keep them in separate test tubes with a wad of cotton wool over a reservoir of water at one end, then simply leave them to do their thing. You need to be patient & disturb them as little as possible (preferably in a dark place, or covered). They will hopefully start to lay eggs.
