Formica tend to be much faster than Myrmica, making them good at rushing in to steal food, but with the large numbers of Myrmica surrounding the prey the lems stood very little chance of getting it from them.

Formica tend to be much faster than Myrmica, making them good at rushing in to steal food, but with the large numbers of Myrmica surrounding the prey the lems stood very little chance of getting it from them. They was picking off unsuspecting Myrmica and spraying it and carrying them off to nest, The Formica worker got one in end but dint get it on video in time as I was watching them for over 30 minuets as I never seen them when they hunt pray in wild.
I thought she was after worm to till she was trying to pic off a Myrmica and got a worker from behind and sprayed her and scattered off carrying it to there nest under heather.
