Regular members will notice that some threads are either moved into the Midden area, or archived; and some may even be deleted if the content is no longer of value. This is why at times you may see the thread and post counts drop occasionally. You will also see that a few ex-members have posted, but their post count is zero.
This is because they deleted their account or abused other members and broke the rules, or were just out to attack this forum and cause trouble. Not all self deleted members were bad I hasten to add, as some just chose to leave having lost interest in the hobby, which is sad.
Jen likes to keep this forum tidy to make it easier for members to find what they may want, or the right place to post. Deleted threads or those in the Midden are usually of less interest or have become stale, while those placed in a board archive are still of value and contain useful information.
We do prefer a member to just think carefully before deleting their account, as not only does it drop the members count, but it does mean you will have to make a new account if you wish to rejoin this forum; and you cannot rejoin and get all your old posts back as a new member, no matter how many you may have made on your old account. So please do remember this before making the decision to leave, as if you still have an old account with hundreds of posts and can remember the password, then you can come back on the same rank and don't have to start all over again.
Think of this forum as a library, where you can search for information and reference; but also as a place where you can also add your own experience and knowledge for the greater good of this collective community. We do appreciate and value all your posts and threads, especially about ants, as this is a serious ant loving forum. Yet at the same time we also encourage members to have fun and to express their joy of ants being able to have a laugh too when they want to.
