I'm so excited to share with you all that The Ant Network has launched its official site at www.theantnetwork.com! Come check out what's in store for ant keeping and research as we continue to launch new services and resources for everyone to use. The Ant Network is a new organization focused on expanding the ant keeping hobby, supporting research, and creating media to advocated for the informed conservation of wildlife and natural resources. Now, in the spring of 2017, small portions of TAN are becoming public. A video entered into the Montana State University’s Blackstone Launchpad Fall Video Pitch Competition scored TAN First Place, $1000 in funding, and a feature on The Daily Ant. Director Miles Maxcer will be interning at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History’s Department of Entomology in March, where he will film The Ant Explorer’s first two episodes. Later this spring, TAN’s main, content-rich website will launch, providing an opportunity for enthusiasts to delve deeper into the lives of ants and for professional entomologists to access information relevant to captive ant research. The Ant Network will launch its full set of services by June, 2017.
