OK so I'm actually not exactly a new member...
But it has been a couple... few? Years since I was last here.
I had a bit of a disaster that I really didn't get over.
But after some time I am finally keeping ants again!
Nothing fancy, but getting back in the saddle.
Good to be back!

Good to see you back, I knew the name was a familiar one from your last posts.

Hi Don good to see you found the Ant Hill again Getting back into a hobby after your terrible break in and disasters helps you take your mind off daily troubles and gives you some achievement and satisfaction again in moving on. Keeping native ants is just as satifying as exotics, so we look forward to reading and helping you out in the future Did you ever find some of your lost snakes?

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome!
And yes the snakes were all eventually found, one of them, (my favourite in fact) showed up a year later! Looking content and fat I may add, good thing we live in a mouse infested (although less so that year) cottage. Just found her curled up sleeping on our hot water header tank.
I still have a small Lasius flavus colony, still my favourite ant. And I have developed a real affection for my Myrmica rubra. Such excellent ants.
