Well in a couple of weeks it's my daughters birthday and she has wanted goldfish for a while,so I've been searching for a fish tank,I've found a decent looking one on Amazon,so there is still the gravel, plants, water treatment and food to get as the tank already comes with a filter and light,I have decided that plants are the most natural way to aerate a tank, but if she wants extra bubbles I'll have to get a pump,on her birthday I'll take her to the pet shop to choose her fish, she will be able to get two,but no more than that as the size of the tank will only allow two, after that my house will start to feel like the animals have taken over, with a vocal cat, some very vocal budgies, the sound of water and I swear even my queen ant makes very slight noises if she thinks I'm getting to close.

The tank was delivered two days ago and I've had it up and running to check for leaks and to get it ready for the fish next week,my daughter can't wait to get her fish

Since getting the fish tank it is now overrun with algae,so I'm going to first get a normal aquatic ground covering plant so that when I put in some shrimp they will have somewhere to hide in between eating the algae, they are the fish tank version of a clean up crew.

There is only one fish now, unfortunately one died quite a while ago,so the one left is Ocean,I decided against getting shrimp as cleaners as they probably would have been eaten,so instead I bought a mini green killing machine as the tank water would just turn green with algae bloom,it took about six days using the green killing machine but now her water is clear again and there are just traces of algae on her sunkern ship and a few plastic plants which ocean seems to like cleaning herself.

Algae bloom could be from high nitrate from over feeding and the lights(if any) on too long
A good water change should help 👍
