First log.
I got this colony 2 weeks ago now. Just a Queen and 2 eggs arrived at post.
Today I checked on queen in her test tube and she now has 3 small larvae and 3 eggs. Queen seem fine and active and she eat or chewed a small cricket last night, leaving bits of cricket at entrance for me to remove. Queen don't seem to like daylight, But under a nightlight she don't seem to stressed over, So its best to check on queen at night Using a low light lamp.
Queen seems fine and room temp is around 17c.

There are now 5 eggs but I think queen keeps eating the odd eggs as by now there should be at least 2 larvae The queen seems live and well and very alert when light shines in to test tube home.
Nothing new to report, But I do fear that queen maybe infertile, I'll keep checking on her every 3 days and hope she raises a larvae. =============== ===============

Changed her test tube water as it was getting yellow the cotton to her drinking water. She still seems to carry around 2 eggs as I fear that she's eating them but queens seem to be doing fine and hope some eggs turn to larvae.
Queen seems alert and happy, She has eaten some cooked chicken and "she queen" tried to then lay it on her drinking water when finished so I had to remove it with tweezers after a day.
I do think checking on her even just for a glimpse seems to disturb her, Even if I leave her for more then 3 days.
Over all queen has a fat gaster shes eating and drinking, Just she seems clumsy with eggs if she's disturbed.

Queen has now 11 eggs but non of them have turned to larvae yet , I still wonder if she is a mated queen.
Queen seems well and her gaster is not as big as it was from last report, I'm trying her with a bit of a lotus leg with only the juicy top bit and see if she has any interest in it.

Camponotus rosariensis Queen has now 9 eggs and 4 larvae, Some off eggs thought was left and dried up it seems.
Queen is messy with way she has her eggs all over test tube only tending to some wile others are left out. Queen seems to be doing well she's eating and drinking bits of honey water every 3 days.
Here's a short video, I'll leave them now for another 3 days.

Queen has 2 pupae but with looks of it queen maybe eating one of them for some reason as others left out.
Eggs are all over test tube as always as queen only seems to look after stuff that's around her, If others are away from queen as in larvae eggs There just get left out, I do think queen eats them after some time so maybe she uses them as a food source to feed larvae that's around her.
She will time to time drink honey water.
Queen seems fine, Maybe and hope 1 pupae will survive to adult ant as the other seems to have gone as food for queen.

Not looking good for this queen, She keeps eating all her pupae and not laid any eggs from last month. Queen seems alert but her gaster seems smaller that worries me for this queen. She's also stopped drinking honey water, May have to try to offer her something else but with out workers to feed her right its not looking good.

Queen today seems to have died She never had any workers and always eat some of her larvae.
If I ever try again with this colony I hope there's some workers to help queen as a queen with no workers is a 50/50 chance for a colony to get going.
This will be last log.
