Here is a video of my colony feeding today. I have been away for a week and the house is cold as its been very cool recently and this colony was very quiet until I put some food in for them. Here's a video after around 15 mins of putting the food in.

What food were you feeding them? They seemed to be very grateful and enjoying it.

That's bbq chicken, they love it. It's a favourite food for my ants, well roasted chicken is what mine like to eat.

Yes I found these are not too fussy when it comes to food. They love roast chicken, prawns, salmon, flies and spiders. I have only seen them ignore Woodlice which most ants do I think, not sure why that is, maybe they have some sort of relationship as I find them inside nests often. But I'm sure they could be a viable food source.

They are never vigorous about any food, but prefer freshly killed soft bodied insects, they refuse any thawed frozen insects. I have tried bold egg yolk with no success, as well as various insect products. They outright shun jellies.
They do like their sweets though. Relatively young colony, very skittish queen, so low brood production which = low protein demands I guess.
I don't tend to give my ants any "human" foods really, I don't know why, just habit.
The next time I have chicken though...
