I have only one empty nest which is a converted worm world, as I want to try and keep an acrylic nest ready for my Camponotus rosariensis. Having ordered a colony of Camponotus psuedo irritans, which has 40 to 50 workers I was wondering what to home them in when they arrive? I think I've found a good nest for my new colony with this from Amazon. Chinese Acrylic Ant NestSo I have ordered one, as it was being sold much dearer by another company and the delivery date was longer than the company I've bought mine from.

That looks quite elaborate! Personally, I'm looking into ytongs nest since I've rarely tried them and I've found some of my larger Camponotus have trouble gripping the floor in their acrylic nests. My C. herculeanus queen practically skids around when taking corners!

My C. herculeanus queen practically skids around when taking corners! Reason I stopped using ytong was the nests were very heavy. If this new nest has small chambers then I might use it for the rosarensis and put the new ant colony in the green acrylic nest? They are bigger ants than the Roses as I recall.

The nest I ordered from Amazon was to be delivered by Friday 3rd of May, but it hasn't even been dispatched yet. There is no way it would get from China to the UK in the next 2 days, so I have requested that the seller cancel my order as it isn't going to get here within the time slot that they said it would. So much for buying a cheaper acrylic nest from China. It is better I wait until I can order a nest from Anthouse or a UK based company.

It depends if they have it in a warehouse in the uk,I ordered a large bird cage for my budgies and the company were based abroad, but they had the item available in the uk so it arrived in a matter of days,of course this may not be the situation on this item.

It usually says "fulfilled by Amazon" when the items are already here in the UK, but this doesn't and only has an address in China. So far they haven't replied to my email or made any attempt to contact me over the issue, and as far as I am concerned the nest is still with the Chinese seller; but thanks for your help.
