A species I have always fancied keeping, but they've been too expensive for me. I will follow your journal with interest in what happens next.

Nice one Adam! And it's great to see you back. I too bought a Messor cephalotes queen very recently. I must start a journal on her soon.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your first queen, but so happy for you having better luck with your 2nd attempt and good to see she is raising a nice colony.

Hey Wood , hey Nova, thank you both, I know, I was super sad after she passed away, months of her doing great for it to end, I suppose that is nature and cannot have every one be successful. I'm super happy with this second queen. the workers are stunning.

That's horrible to hear, Adam. It sounded like they were doing brilliantly as well. What causes queens to just randomly die like that?
Could you keep another species in the meantime, perhaps one that isn't as expensive?

to be honest I'm taking a break from getting anymore, haven't the money to waste should they die. Have no clu as to why she died. Literally nothing has changed in there care other then adding the outworld but that was weeks ago.

Very sorry to hear about the death of your queen. I know you did well with your Atta a few years back, so maybe you could do it again with Acromyrmex or Atta, or maybe try keeping a colony of Camponotus. Try the Ant Lady website as she is a good friend of mine and a very reliable ant seller who does her best to help, and keep the prices down.
