Hope you guys like my latest ant inspired poem entitled Ant Lovers
Ants in your pants and ants in the grass, an ant is such a clever little lass.
One on her own can't do a lot, but thousands together build and plot.
Whether millions strong or just a few, they construct a nest like a motley crew.
Ants can be nasty or be nice, and by their habits give us good advice.
To work together for the good of all, ants may be little yet they still stand tall.
We keep ants in our homes and school, because this insect is so cool.
Species from both far and wide, our love for ants we just can't hide.
In glass or plastic ants look good, as it lets us study them like we should.
Ants don't need a hug or cuddle, so to keep them is easy and never a muddle.
If we feed them well they prosper too, as thousands grow from a humble few.
Making nests in leaves, or trees or clay, most ants are busy 23 hours a day.
Try working as hard as that and you'll find, you'd soon get tired or lose your mind.
From the day she ecloses from her pupal stage, the ant works hard until old age.
Only the males do nothing you'll see, except for mating which they do with glee.
The good old queen ant outlives them all, but for her life isn't exactly a ball.
The queen mother is a prisoner of the nest, and is never allowed out as it's for the best.
Her daughters keep her safe and sound, in her private chambers deep underground.
She lays all the eggs to keep her colony growing, as without her it just wouldn't keep going.
For years and years ant nests have been here, as unlike some creatures they don't disappear.
So a million years on a human may state, "What a great little insect the ant is, they're great!"
