He breeds them. But to my knowledge, they aren't native to Britain. Very common in pet shops though. You can also get leaf insects, which look as much like leaves as stick insects look like twigs. ;D

What species of phasmid is it? I don't really know as the photo was taken a friend who found it in his house, not in the UK though I hasten to add. He also gets hoardes of Atta ants making a pathway through his garden cutting his flowers to bits

Just got a new pair of stick insects, one for myself and one for my sister. ;D They are already proving to be very interesting.
