Can't you seperate them. To stop them mating.

Couldn't separate them, no where else to put them. There's about 200 eggs now, and the first two babies have hatched today. They're drinking fine droplets of water and starting on their first leaves. One of the babies has an egg stuck to her left back foot, but I don't want to try and remove it in case I injure the baby by accident- they're so tiny and delicate looking. ) Is it safe to introduce them to their parent's set up, or do they have to reach a certain size first? I don't think I'll do that anyway, they should be okay in their current box.

The 5th baby hatched through the night. Its interesting that they show no larval/infant behaviour at all, acting like miniature versions of the adults.

27 babies. I don't know what to do with them. I might put them in the adult's tank if necessary. Opening the lid of the babies container is a bad idea- when you prod one back down, a further three are climbing out.

Can't believe how many babies there are, they're very energetic and eager to escape too. Here's the proud mum. She's quite a big one, isn't she?

Throughout the night, the babies have completely destroyed the large leaves that I gave them, and I found one on my floor. My mum then reported a baby trying to get out of the back door, meaning it would have had to go across my room, across the landing, down the stairs, through the hallway, past the dining room and through the kitchen. They might just be more mischievous than the L.niger are. When they're big enough (Because some of them are already starting to grow quite quickly), I may as well introduce them to the parent's tank.

;D Or more likely, one has attached itself to the back of your clothing and you never noticed I have taken a stick down the woods before now when I have gone walking with the dog, it had attached itself to my hair and I never noticed it, what you might call a living hair decoration.............
