I found it after searching around good old Alex Wild's ant site. The name of this ant is} Camponotus (Myrmepomis) sericeiventris

Right you are Wood. That is in fact one of Alex's picture of this species from Paraguay.
It is a charming species known from Mexico to Argentina, and one I think could be suitable for zoo displays in frost-prone climates. It is totally unable to withstand cold (so escapes would cause no lasting difficulty) and is active, showy and large (large majors nearly 20 mm).

Thats amazing!! I would love to be able to purchase ants... is there any distributors in North America that are able to sell ants?

I'm not sure how things stand in Canada, but the sale of ants is very limited within the USA as their laws require insect keepers to hold special permits for none native species. Even then the law prevents the shipping/posting of live ants, especially queens, across state borders. You could try your local library or city/town hall for information, as they may be able to offer advice about the sale of ant species in Canada; but you will probably find that places selling ants within the EU community countries do not ship them to anywhere outside of Europe.
