Yep, she has settled in nicely with her Lasius niger host workers. There was a little agression at first as always with social parasites but overnight they seem to have bonded well . I also boosted the small colony with about 100 L. niger cocoons so the queen can have a good start.

Good morning,
Lasius flavus :
- Location : South east of England. - Time : 6:30/7:00 pm.
This was a very small flight due to the fact that the alates that flew were probabbly the remaining ones that were not able mate the previous month. I collected 10 queens.
Lasius umbratus :
- Location : South east of England. - Time : 6:30/7:00 pm.
I did not see this flight happen. However, when I was collecting the newly mated Lasius flavus queens I found two Lasius umbratus queens. Unfortunately, once I woke up this morning, one of the queens had died.
Thanks, Blem12

A large mass mating flight of Myrmica scabrinodis was seen in the wilds of West Sussex this week. So big it resembles a flock of starlings. knepp.co.uk/home
