They seem to be thriving, also they have trouble climbing up the sides as well! They have dug throughout the tank and they are always taking drinks of sugar water from a feeding tube!

My grandfather lives next door and he has a pool. The flight had happened the day before and his pool was filled with winged queens that had fallen in. I took the scooper and caught most of them is it and let them go on the cement. I went back about 3 minutes later or 10 even, I don't really remember how long and lifted all the hiding places they had on the cement and caught 21 dealated queens from his pool. most were set free and I still have 4 colonies going in my house, about 6 let go, and 1 giving to my life science teacher. They usually fly in late June or July. I really haven't ever found one queen on the ground that I didn't put there from a water source. They are really great because even though they took a long bath in pool water they all made it through the test tube phase.
