There's one myrmecology forum I considered joining a few years back until I noticed that the admin harassed his members whenever they spelled something wrong or didn't punctuate correctly.
There are people here who have legitimate problems with spelling/grammar, so we edit their posts without making a big song and dance about it. Glad you guys enjoy the forum!

I rate this 10/10
because this is the best forum ever. I am the most active user I think... Although I am new, I might be a major poster of 1000 posts in the future. I have had this hobby for almost a year. I couldn't of been so inspired without MYRM'S website, and this forum
thanks Ant Hill world for all the help you have given me over the weeks.

A bit on the quiet side which is to be expected in a hobby that doesn't attract many people but very helpful and a nice environment. If I need an ant related question answering I know I can always get the answer here. On other forums questions can go unanswered.
Too many discussion groups are full of trolls now, one troll is too many and I've left various groups because of them. I find it highly annoying and hardly ever touch forums any more. Roll back a few years and forum life was a much nicer place, if someone was repeatedly an arse then they were removed. These days everything is tolerated and if you don't like it, YOU are told to leave. This forum is clearly the exception.

The trouble with the ant hobby is it is very seasonal. From October people drift off, and return in the Spring, but they still expect you to keep the forum open and posting. This is down to members to keep contributing, and its many thanks to our regulars that keep this forum open.

Pond fish forums are the same in being seasonal although with our current very mild winter there's still much to talk about, just not many posts about new pond builds.

I think that it is great, I think that Jenny and all of the others have helped me a lot and if it were not for this forum my L. Niger colony would probably not exist. I get very fast reply to my questions and I didn't know that there is such a large ant keeping community. Overall thumbs up!
