I was just in time earlier to see my adorable Axolotl trying to eat a sharp screw that somehow ended up in her tank just now, and was unable to prevent her from swallowing it. I'm really hoping that she will pass it out or somehow change her mind and spit it out, because she's at big risk right now of getting a gut blockage or internal injury. I've had her for three years now and I really don't want to lose her. I've just left school and now have to prepare for lots of exams. I don't want to lose my companion, but there's actually nothing that I can do but hope that she will live.

Symptoms of gut blockage include swelling of the stomach and refusal to eat. I can gladly say that she is cutting a swathe through her food right now. ;D I'm still keeping a close eye on her though. I've also spoiled her by giving her a flowerpot to hide in.
