Hi, I might be getting some foreign ants at some point, but if the colony got big enough to produce alates what would I do with them? thanks!

The chances of the alates flying is quite low, and the chances of them breeding almost nil. But you will need to make sure that they cannot fly out should they try to (simple lid helps).
What kind of foreign, European or more exotic?

Don't release them if any do appear. If by a slim chance you did get alates in a colony of non-native ants, they will either be killed off by the workers or perhaps mate in the nest. As most ants need to fly to mate properly though, it is most unlikely that you might get any new queens; but not entirely improbable if the species is a polygyn one Whatever you do though, never let them go into the garden or countryside, as they could cause major problems to the native wildlife if they survive and form colonies

Thanks for all the help! Oh, and Phasmid, I may be getting Camponotus ligniperda and/or leafcutter ants (Acromyrmex sp.).
