We often get starlings and sparrows on our bird feeders, and at the moment a family of blue tits come each day; but we had a lovely surprise when this big bird joined in with the blue tit this morning at the feeding station. www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/g/greattit/index.aspxThese photos show a male Great Tit (not taken by me)

I hope to set up a bird-feeder some day, but for now, all I have is a starling nesting in my shower vent who has learned to mimic somebody's yipping dog.

Hah, when I was younger there was a baby starling abandoned in our road, normally the parents will carry on feeding it but there was no sign of them for days. So, I had to raise it myself - it lived in a shoebox full of grass/cotton wool in my room and we had to feed it with live worms stuck right down its throat. I kept it for a couple of weeks and used to take it out into the garden for it to practice flying and then one day it finally got proficient and managed to fly away . I looked for it for ages but couldnt find it anywhere. About 6 months later there was a young starling hanging around in our garden though but I never knew if it was Malcom (his name).
