It is normal for the larvae to be positioned near the eggs. The queen does not intend all of them to hatch; some she will use to feed her larvae and herself.

This is only 1 of the queens nests and that queens is (drum roll) Q1 ;D I won't be placing her in her new home until she has 20-30 workers though. I will post Q2 set up next weekend and she won't be going in until she has 20-30 workers again

again with old fish tank light I like the idea of having a light over the set up, as it will act like a miniature sun when the tank is looked at, giving light and just a bit of warmth. Ideal for the winter when there isn't much natural light.
