Hiya guys I was watching this great documentary about ants heres the link:
And I was wondering if anyone could Identify the ant species at 15:50 and 16:54 please as they look like very cool ants and I would like to read up on them a bit more.

Thanks that narrows the search down a little bit any idea about the ones with the thorny thorax? Also after looking at them they look a lot like a Camponotus species (from the head anyway) Don't think that they have the right kind of jaws? I maybe wrong though.

The set up holds a colony of Atta ants (cephalotes I think) and was made by Bert holldobler and his team for laboratory research on scent trails I believe.

The ants at 15:50 are a Meranoplus species possibly Meranoplus bicolor. The ants just before these are a Harpegnathos species (Harpegnathos saltator?). The ones at 16:54 like Zarbi said are Camponotus sericeiventris.
