Ok don't know what digital slr means :/ sorry I'm rubbish with technology want a camera that is able to take unblurred close up pictures. I have a fujifilm finepix s6500 fd digital camera just needs new batteries then hopefully that will be suffice :-)

SLR means Single Lens Reflex, which is a camera that can interchange lenses. To be honest a good close up lens can cost as much as the camera, and many nice and cheaply priced cameras do have good macro these days. Your current camera appears to have 6 mega-pixels, but I would suggest getting a camera with more pixels and a good close up or macro facility. Take a look at these and see what you can afford around the 16 mega-pixels kind, as these usually take a good picture. Digital Cameras

I loved my Fujifilm FinePix S5700 the macro was/is amazing (as long as you had good light) Theses taken with it DSCF1008-1 by Big-Pic, on Flickr Rubra eggs by Big-Pic, on Flickr Larva 2 by Big-Pic, on Flickr Thats cotton wool fibres that you can see But its dated now so you can get better but all depends on your budget. The camera I'm using at the moment is a Cannon 600d which cost me £700 new (now only £450 less than 12 months old, ouch) then as wood said a good lens can cost just as much. The macro lens I'm using is a Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro USM £350 new, got mine for £200 of Ebay, but to be honest you can get some very good point and shoot cameras for £100 or less.

Wow that picture quality is amazing yeah I'm going to have a shop around as would love to snap some great pictures. The light doesn't help at times I suppose. But yeah I'll keep my eyes open see what can be found :-)

Hello everyone, I am trying to find some advice on which camera to use for close ups. I have looked up this camera and been told it will do very good close ups of my ants. Can anyone confirm this is the case please: Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens Canon EOS 350D Body
Is there anything else I would need to get started taking the photos?
Thank you for your help!
Regards, Rich.

Regards, Rich. If I were you I'd get a 450 or 500D instead of a 350, because the 350's LCD screen is way to small, in my opinion anyway. We have them three models at school and the 500 is the best I think, but the 450 is cheaper.

I have the Nikon d3200, I will be getting some macro lens filters because I cannot afford a full macro lens.
