Hey guys, I just finished my Sunday morning check of my ants set up's and cleaning. I thought that my Acromyrmex may have died as I haven't disturbed them for a week or so now and was just leaving them to there fate. I had fed them some sugar water and a bit of organic apple and just left them to it. I thought I'd take a peek to see if they had died so I could preserve them when I had noticed they had cut some rose leaf again and noticed what I'm hoping is a small pile of fungus on a bramble leaf, I'm hoping it is and not just the leaf going mouldy. Could you guys tell me what you think? I put a fresh rose flower in and they're both all over it and have cut it although I can't see where they have taken it due to the condensation. Under the rose in the middle Closer It does look like it but I'm unsure as almost every journal I've ever read the colony already has its fungus garden growing, in fact I haven't come across one that's been started from a single queen. The temperature is a constant 27'c and its showing 99%RH Cheers Mark

It could be just mildew growing on the leaf, but it might also be the beginnings of a fungus garden as Leaf Cutter ants fungus is a creamy white or milky white colour. Let's hope it is the latter, as that means the Acro queens will be able to lay eggs and feed any larvae and themselves with it. 1f272727f769137327ecdc4044e746e2
