Back in 1993, before it went up to London and then on tour around the UK, the musical stage show Pickwick came to Chichester. They rehearsed the show in the hall at the hospital where Jen and I both worked as nurses, and while it was there we met Ruth Madoc, Roy Castle and Sir Harry Secombe. Jen and myself went to see the show in August of that year, as by now I had got to know the cast really well; and Sir Harry had invited us both to go backstage at the end of the performance, which we did. Sir Harry introduced both of us as "my good friends" as we chatted for ages to Roy and Harry. Prior to this, I got to take these photos of Jen and Harry together at the Festival Theatre, and we will always remember him with very fond memories, as he was such a lovely person and had a very funny sense of humour which has stayed with us to this day. Cheers Harry!
