Love the photos, and I hope the colony grows well as any partly red Messor species look great in large numbers. Knowing you as well as I do you have the knack of keeping them.

How are they growing so fast? I was under the impression these were quite a slow producing species. Even my Lasius nigers haven't grown this quick.

What is the clear stuff the workers are nibbling on Shane? It looks like ice, but I am sure it is some kind of food.

all seem to love to drink from them and they safe.

I spotted 1 queen running around and 2 inside the tube. Nice video Shane, I am a bit envious of you having this lovely species. Where did you get the colony from?

Found it, they were from Queen Ant Shop which has now sadly gone out of business as I think James moved away from London and went abroad?
