When taking the queen out from the test tube...do I just release her and the new workers in the formicarium so that they dig a nest themselves? Or do I have to place her underground myself?

Just lay the test tube open in a formicarium and she and her worker will dig out a nest, But some times they may live in test tube for months before moving out.

Cool thanks for the reply. Another thing I've been wondering...I'm looking at putting small pipes along the formacarium that leads to the place where I will feed them...will they actually follow that pipe system or will they be stubborn and seek other options? I'm trying to cause the ants to walk basicly a long way in a circular motion to get to their food and back...makes the foraging process more intreating I thought...will it work?
