I am sure this large pupa is going to be a new queen. Take a look and see if you agree?

What about the pupa next to the queen? Are they drones, they look large with a small head, which presumably means drones. The colony must be very happy then, I am hoping my two colonies year will produce alates, perhaps we could trade some! It is not unusual for young colonies to produce reproductive. How big was your old colony? Did they ever produce reproductive, I wonder why this colony has produced them, and you other colony hasn't..

It's a new colony from Anthouse which we have only had a few weeks. It's not very big either.

It is certainly going to be a new queen, and you may find a few more of the pupae become winged drones and/or queens too.
