Would you pay £85 just for 1 queen with a bit of brood? I know we love to buy exotic ants and they can be expensive for a colony, but I thinks this guy is ripping buyers off. Open this link £85 Queen AntI would say that any ant keeper who pays this much for a single queen of any species wants their head tested. I'd pay that. Any price. Well, if it was cheapest I'd still buy it. I am urging for a queen ant, having had one that only lasted a few hours near the start of 2015.

eBay has a bizarre policy on things that are alive. Live food is fine, fish are fine and some insects seem to be fine. I don't know where they draw the line.
I was very surprised at the price of ants and cost was one of the factors in deciding on the species I chose to keep. As a newcomer and not knowing how easy or difficult they would be to keep I was reluctant to spend too much. Ironically my order was messed up and as a gesture of goodwill they exchanged it for an even larger, much more expensive colony.

I think you're a little mad! £85 is approx $173 (Australian)

Scallywag, do not waste your money on money grabbing people like that. You'd be paying way over the odds for that. There are many honest ant sellers out there that will sell ants for far more reasonable prices.
