They've started moving more seeds into the nest now, I think I have the most dis-organised Messors in the world, there's seeds scattered all over the place, every chamber has seeds in it, looking abandoned. This queen is more mobile than all of my other queens patrolling the nest like a prison warden. They still do not seem that interested in insects, they may have eaten some I just haven't seen it. I will put some more photos on soon, but I just do not want to disturb them to much, as most of you will know the slightest knock or bump or light in the nest area and they get really spooked.

All ours are in soil tanks, having failed in ytong miserably. Messors by name are the same by nature, the more seeds you provide, they will go filling chambers up everywhere. That's normal, the container which held our seeds dry was emptied out everywhere, and then they decided to fill it up with brood

No mate its grey, but I've found a supplier of the white ytong so I will be using white in future for all my nests. I got told there isn't much difference between the white and grey, and grey is stronger than the white, but white makes it easier to see what's going on and white has slightly more air holes. I cannot wait till my colony's that size, think that colony was 3 years old so its not that long really.

This colony is really settled in now, they seem to be going about there daily business now,the queen has settled as well, shes not patrolling as frantically as she was for the 1st day or so.The workers are out collecting seeds, I've even seen them dragging a dubia roach into the nest, its brilliant watching them dragging something over 10 times there own size around like it weighs nothing.

These girls are very lethargic now not moving that much, they obviously are at some point as there are always new seeds in there nest, I've just not seen them foraging,I'm putting a shelf up at the weekend to keep them on because there on a flimsy table at the moment and the slightest knock and they go mad,I put some packaging that I got in a tank I got delivered under the nest and this seems to have helped but I think the shelf will be better.
