Videos of our 2 girls enjoying their very first encounter with snow, as this is the first winter they have ever seen snow and been for a walk in it.

Looks like they're both due for a haircut! But I expect they're grateful for the long hair considering how cold it's been. Was very surprised when it snowed yesterday, Portsmouth very rarely gets any at all.

Due a bath for definite but it will have to warm up This breed keeps their long feathery coat all year, they don't really need trimming but I trim them up a bit later just for a tidy up. Some people have them cut short because they don't like all the brushing, but they look most odd and not like a cavalier at all. The boys have a much thicker longer coat. Bess and Katy's are quite thin this winter. They really love the snow, we will have to enjoy it again tomorrow before it warms up from Sunday.

Don't know if they look too happy about the snow to be honest! My Chihuahua doesn't like going out in, probably because a few inches is like few feet of snow for him! My Whippet on the other hand absolutely loves it.

They were out again at 5.30 this morning, they couldn't stop snuffling in it all, but it is starting to melt here. I had to watch your video twice Jeoff, as the first time I thought your whippet had your Chihuahua on the sledge just a trick of the brain

No those dogs aren't daft at all: they're having the time of their lives! Remember that compared to our noses, dogs' are way way advanced. They can still smell things OK, but it's all got such a different tone and timbre; they're totally enthralled by the change in quality of smell, and they can't wait to burrow down deeper, have fun and play. Compared to doggy's sense of smell, human beings must appear anosmic!
